An active SSS member having at least 1 month contribution as well as SSS pensioners are legible to apply for the new SS ID.

I’m a student and I applied for an SSS Number. I asked where my SSS ID is and the employee said I will get my id when I start to work already. Why can’t I have my SSS id when the reason I got one is for me to have a valid id now?
