How to Pay Contribution as Voluntary SSS Member

Voluntary Contribution

In my aim to provide useful information to all Pinoys who are legitimate members of the SSS, here is another guide on how to pay for your SSS contribution as a voluntary member. Please be reminded that the Social Security System embraces the principle of “lifetime membership”.What does this mean? Simple. This means that even if you stopped or were not able to pay for your contribution due to separation from employment or cessation of self employment, you are still entitled and can avail of all or any of your benefit being a member. These benefits are maternity, retirement, disability, sickness, death and funeral. The only thing that will help you get assurance that you will get all these is only to meet all the qualifying conditions.

On the other hand, you can continue paying on your own, your remittance on a voluntary basis. The payment may be made monthly or quarterly. In my case, as a non-working member, I chose to set up a quarterly basis but it took me a lot of guts and discipline to continue with my payment this way even without any work (being unemployed). Now the question is how do you pay these terms (quarterly or monthly)? Follow the quick and easy step by step procedures I have listed below taken from the official SSS website which you can find at sss.gov.ph.

Quick Step by Step Guide in Paying as a Voluntary SSS Member

1. Get here – The RS-5 SSS Form Download or what is called as the contributions payment return form. You can get it for free either from any SSS branch nearest you or by downloading it from the SSS site I have stated above.

Tip: If you fill up the form, use black ink ballpen only.

2. Don’t forget to fill in by checking the box corresponding to “Voluntary” in the instructions field part of the form.

3. If you are paying in cash, please notice that to the right of the “instructions” part of the form is where you can find the spaces to fill in. It is labelled “social security contribution” block. Just right the amount of contribution that you are willing to pay with month and year it is applicable. Don’t forget to indicate the total amount remitted right below the boxes.

4. For those who will paying in check, please make sure or kindly fill up the lowest portion of the RS-5 form with the cheque amount, bank name, cheque number and cheque date.

5. After completing the form and filling up the necessary details, you will need 3 copies of it plus your cash payment and submit it to any of the authorized over the counter (OTC) payment facilities 1. SSS main office cashier department 2. SSS branch teller counters 3. CIS bayad centers 4. SM business centers 5. SSS accredited commercial banks

6. For members abroad, you may pay at iRemit, PNB Overseas payment system, Ventaja or if you have a savings account, you may also arrange an auto debit payment system with these banks – Asiatrust, BDO, DBP, Greenbank, BPI, First Green Bank, Metrobank, LBP, PS Bank, UCPB and PNB.

7. Other payment options may also be utilized like the online facility payment of Bancnet by logging in at www.bancnetonline.com.

8. For cooperative members, you may also pay your SSS contributions through them provided that they are duly accredited as a collecting agent of the SSS.

At this point, you are a waiting-for-approval type of member but as soon as your first payment has been recognized and received by this agency of the Philippine government, your voluntary membership with the SSS will take effect. For other related concerns, you may email the agency at member_relations@sss.gov.ph. Welcome!

Mag-loan po, ako para mag-umpisa ng maliit na negosyo, pangtawid pamilyang pangkabuhayan, po. Sana matulungan niyo,po ako.

I am upset on how they handled the issue of giving 8 thousand twice for employees of a certain agency and employees thought that its all like an incentive or hazzard pay from their insurance since they are still working during the Civid outbreak. Tjeybare only kinimum wagers and the money is obviously used for their families. Now the agncy will deduct 2000 per cut of or total of 4000 per month only because SSS said the incentive is not valid which is something that shoukd never be approved in the firsy place. Now the employees are all going to suffer the consequences of paying this highh amount in a short time because of error they never did. How can this be fixed?
