What is SSS Salary Loan and Who May Qualify

SSS Member Loan

A salary loan is actually a short term loan offered to SSS members by the Philippine Social Security System to meet any immediate need for cash by any SSS member. The next question would probably be who can qualify to make an SSS loan? So far, in the SSS website, there are basically 5 pointers with which any member may qualify for a salary loan. Please read below.

Who Is Qualified to Make a Loan? (info taken directly from SSS website – www.sss.gov.ph)

1. An employed, currently paying self-employed or voluntary member (SE/VM) who has 6 posted monthly contributions for the last 12 months prior to the month of filing of application.

  • For one-month loan, the member-borrower must have 36 posted monthly contributions prior to the month of filing of application.
  • For a two-month loan, the member-borrower must have 72 posted monthly contributions prior to the month of filing of application.

2. If the member-borrower is employed, the employer must be updated in contributions and loan remittances.

3. The member-borrower must be updated-current in the payment of other member loans, which include educational, stock investment, MADE & housing loans granted under the Unified Housing Loan program (UHLP) or direct from SSS.

4. The member-borrower has not been granted final benefit (total permanent disability, retirement and death).

5. The member-borrower has not been disqualified due to fraud committed against the SSS.

    Hi, I’ve verified that my company already submitted my monthly contribution up until oct2016. but I can only see up until sept2016 contribution, making me not qualified for the salary loan that requires atleast 36mos. if my record is sync based on current month deduction. I supposedly have 36mos contri already. would there be any consideration for this? I would like to apply for a loan.

    I’m currently unemployed but has 52mos of total contributions. May starting date on my new work will be on May 1. Can i apply fo a loan?

    Hi ask ko lang po I’m currently employed and I have existing loan with SSS for around 18k di ko sya nabayaran for 2 years.. I have a plan to pay it in full pag nabayaran ko na ba to and nag post na pwde na ba ko magloan agad??

    may i ask if qualified po ako para magloan, medyo naguguluhan lang po kasi ako. Yung sa una ko pong work ay almost 2years po ako nakapaghulog if i remember may gap po akong isang month na hindi nakapaghulog.Tapos nung lumipat po ako ng work nung naka 1 year nako sa work saka pa po ako kinaltasan, until now deretso naman po ako contriibution ko sa sss.

    Good day po sa lahat..pwede po bang huminge ng information about sa loan salary.matagal ko na ksing di nabayaran ang loan ko.kung babayaran ko lng po muna ay ang niloan ko at ung interest ay to follow…ung interest po ba na naiwan ay mag iinterest ulit?salamat po sna matulungan nyo ako…
