What is SSS Salary Loan and Who May Qualify
SSS Salary Loan
A salary loan is actually a short term loan offered to SSS members by the Philippine Social Security System to meet any immediate need for cash by any SSS member. The next question would probably be who can qualify to make an SSS loan? So far, in the SSS website, there are basically 5 pointers with which any member may qualify for a salary loan. Please read below.
Who Is Qualified to Make a Loan? (info taken directly from SSS website – www.sss.gov.ph)
1. An employed, currently paying self-employed or voluntary member (SE/VM) who has 6 posted monthly contributions for the last 12 months prior to the month of filing of application.
- For one-month loan, the member-borrower must have 36 posted monthly contributions prior to the month of filing of application.
- For a two-month loan, the member-borrower must have 72 posted monthly contributions prior to the month of filing of application.
2. If the member-borrower is employed, the employer must be updated in contributions and loan remittances.
3. The member-borrower must be updated-current in the payment of other member loans, which include educational, stock investment, MADE & housing loans granted under the Unified Housing Loan program (UHLP) or direct from SSS.
4. The member-borrower has not been granted final benefit (total permanent disability, retirement and death).
5. The member-borrower has not been disqualified due to fraud committed against the SSS.

may i ask f im qualify for loan, im former ofw and now im self-employed.. i wnt to have a loan in sss…
I’M NOT YET INTERESTED ABOUT THE LOAN.MY CONCERN NOW IS THAT I’M NOT ABLE TO INQUIRE MY SSS CONTRIBUTION AND IN THE LOG IN PAGE SAYS THAT MY ACCOUNT WAS BLOCKED. HOW COULD THAT HAPPENED?
PLEASE MAKE IT POSSIBLE FOR US TO INQUIRE EASILY.
@ Maricar, if you passed all 5 requirements mentioned above, I believe so that you are qualified to apply and get your SSS loan. If you were able to pay at least 36 SSS remittance payments to the SSS in the past and you have no other existing loans or outstanding balances, then that makes you legible for the loan.
@Josan, you can only be blocked from the SSS online inquiry if you repeatedly tried to access your account entering the wrong username password combination. However, I am not implying that you made this mistake but there is little or no chance at all that your account could get blocked if you did nothing wrong in the process of logging in. All I can suggest to you however is to fill up a form of request of new SSS password. This might take time but this is the standard process that nobody is spared of when instances like this happen.

in which banks can we encash SSS checks?
encashing of SSS checks are only done in PNB Bank branches po.
Will you please send me a feed back if if the account of Mrs. Delfina Pedrasa is still receiving her monthly pension?, Becuase she was past away already 3 or 4 months from now?..

Why PNB didn’t encash my SSS Check worth 12,000, the approving officer said that they will only encash SSS check amount below 10K…Why it happen?

I also experience that my SSS loan check was not accepted by PNB. In the SSS check it was clearly displayed that SSS check is accepted in all PNB Banks.

Pwedeng pwede po hulugan ulit ang account as long as you still have the SSS number or if you kept a copy of the number pero kung talagang retrieval po, you can ask the sss admin.
